The Thieves that I caught

So I came home the other day and found these little munchkins in my strawberries. At least it looks like they enjoyed them.

Sorry, Marci.

Well, Marie got here today so I had to let here help herself to the cucumbers.

Hasn't anyone wanted an update?

So I'm surprized that no one has asked how the old Topsie Turvy was doing. So when we put in the grape VINES I had moved it to the front yard. It is about 5 1/2 ft tall and loaded with tomatoes.
Here is the first ripe one.

So we waited to give Marie the honors of picking it.

So here are the first three yellow pear-shaped tomatoes hauled in with the old John Deere.

The Garden Up-date

I put the picture of the Fiesta Salsa in backwards; this is the end results of the bottom picture. (My bad.)
One of the challenges of gardening in California is you can get surprise plants that just show up. This year I got one volunteer that came up in the middle of my beans. The plant's leaves had mold and in the way so I finally took it out today. We have these 10 squash, gourds or whatever they they might be.

Mother has been busy this week canning beans, relish, and blackberry jam. So today we got our biggest picking of tomatoes so she picked peppers and cucumbers to make salsa. (Not bad for the first harvest.)

This year's gladiolus

The gladiolus, an old Bear Lake favorite, finally came on. They seemed to be tall and quite loaded, despite the dog breaking the first ones off. See Marci, I have a few flowers too.

The bargaIn find just in time.

So a couple of weeks ago we had gone for a walk at the park. On the way home the old Dog sniffed out a garage sale across the street. Ma found these two glass lamps (that had red and gold leaves and a couple of quail birds in them) for 5 dollars. She was excited; I thought "Oh, great. Another something to store." After we got home with Ma's treasures I had got the old combine out and harvested the wheat. To my surprise Ma found a great place to store the crop and I now like the lamps. GREAT JOB MA !!!!!!

What To Do?

So what do you do when you come home and find that your dog dug two great big holes in your yard?

I thought about burying dad but the hole wasn't deep enough!

Well, they tell you in life, if you get Lemons to make Lemonade. So we decided to plant a couple of Grape trees and instead of making lemonade will make grape juice. (P.S. The dog didn't dig the holes; we just added a new feature to the yard)
