HAPPY VALENTINE'S

So Valentine's Day can always bring a challange to an old red neck. (After 34 years of them what do you do?)
Diamonds? but what would she do with them? (even if I could afford them)
Chocolates are gone in a hurry. (maybe not as much now the kids are gone)
Flowers? well, her students and son (or daughter-in-law) took care of that;
Breakfeast in bed? (well, at our age that just seems awkward)
So that left a new power tool (Wait! the garage is full)

From a former student

from Joe and Sujin

So then I was walking thru work and saw this fountain and immediately thought of my favorite Valentine, so I got one for Mom. HAPPY VALENTINE'S to the GREATEST VALENTINE; she is the best. (So this just goes to prove, you can still get the best gifts at Home Depot.) And HappyValentine's to all the rest of you and hope you have a great day.

Could this be winter in Southern California?

Could these be icicles starting on mom's clothes line?

One more picture to show that they are.

Then there are the white trees. (Are they covered in snow?)

You decide.

Maybe it's "popcorn popping right before my eyes".

Saturday's Adventures

So with Saturday off, I dragged Mom out of bed and took a drive down the coast, then up Malibu Canyon. This is a photo from the start of the canyon out over the ocean.
A small waterfall we found in the canyon after the rains.

Malibu Creek and a very interesting rock. (Sure is muddy after the rains.)

Mom after breakfeast with the clouds rolling in.

These flowers are on a plant that I thought was real different.
