Saturday

After a morning of garage sales we went and parked near the Ventura Pier and rode up to and around the Rincon. Jeff and Kylie joined us for the day.
It was a nice ride and as always the coast provides some lovely scenery.

Jamie and Peyton's Visit

Friday Jamie and Peyton came down.  We enjoyed some time at the no wave beach.
(Peyton was a sport and let me bury her legs)

Then she played with Tori, and then enjoyed a little watermelon

Went for a car ride in the back yard

Best model I have every had for that old cap

Even being a few days early, Melissa  made a birthday cake for Jamie that we all got to share

 Happy birthday, early, Jaime.
We will think of you on our way out, on your birthday.
(So this is how we all celebrated Marci's birthday)

out with the old, in with the new

This is what the front tire looked like on John's bike all the way to Ojai and back.

But it was the new rear tire that went flat.
But he did change the front tire too.

The Big Accomplishment

Wednesday we decided to try and start at the Ventura Pier and see how far up towards Ojai we could ride our bikes.
Half way there taking a little break.
 At Libby Bowel in Ojai

On the trail back down

The phone on the left shows all the info on the trip up and the one on the right shows the trip back over 33 miles and 4 hours of riding time; what an accomplishment for us.

Our shadows in the water from a bridge we rode over.

Peyton's Birthday Stage One

So they wanted to have a early birthday party for Peyton before Jason had to head back to Canada for football practice. They caught me at home; that's why the old ranch truck was at home. (They're lucky that I didn't bring the old John Deere home to be in the drive way.) Blow up the picture to check out the cool signs.  And yes, we got all the animal dung cleaned up for the party (even if it was dog poop)

Then someone had taken my larriate and wrote out Peyton's name on the barn door so I took it off and put it by the food table.

There were hats and neckerchiefs for all the little buckaroos.

We were able to bring in a couple of straw bales see's we just got the grain all harvested.
Then the guest of honor finally showed up.

There was plenty of food for all that showed up even the birthday girl

.

There was face painting and throwing bean bags

Then it was show time; let's open them presents.

There was a cake smashing time; what a great party for a very special gal.

Here are some of the folks that showed up to enjoy it. Good times partner!

Beach Trips

Underwood Farms

We went out to Underwood Farms; there was a lot to do.

There were lots of animals to feed including these sheep.

There was a cow train to ride

 A combine slide

Old John Deere's to try out

 More animals to feed

Horses to ride, even got to see a peacock show of his tail feathers.

And KP's favorite: an electric train ride; there were a lot of other activties and made for a fun day.

Visit from the Platt's

Marci, KP and Marie came to visit back in July.  They drove in very early in the morning; later when KP woke up he just couldn't make it downstairs past the tractors.
We finally got him outside to enjoy some strawberries.
Had a couple trips to the beach
But most his time was with them good old John Deeres.  I loved how we would find them in little groups all over the house.
