How rough is it at Subway?

So Jeff is sporting a new cast on his right hand; quite the fasion statement. (Didn't know work at Subway was so dangerous.) Actually he broke it playing in a flag football league in Camarillo. It comes off this coming week befor his first game at Moorpark College.

Lunch at the Beach

So Friday I was in a "not-wanting-to-work" mood so talked Mom into packing a lunch and we drove to Oxnard Shores to have lunch. It was a beautifull day.

Then I thought that I saw Marci out there surfing. (Then I relized that Marci now hangs out at the RESERVIOR-not the real beach.) After that we walked around the neigborhood and looked at the non-track and million dollar homes. It was a fun start of the day.

What tree is it?

We always thought the neighbors had a plum tree. But we found these beans in their tree. This picture shows how big our bean plants got; they actually grew over the fence and that high up in their tree. Can you see the plum in the center too?

Another DILEMMA Avoided

Last week mom and I came home from our morning walk and noticed that the new strawberry starts were all over; so what should we do with them? After getting the old trusty John Deere out mom in the 8310 and me on the old D, it didn't take long to get the ground worked into good shape.

Then we pulled out some of the cups that we had put new strawberry plants. Some had as many as 8 to 13 starts to one runner. We separated them and replanted.

So now the bottom area is full

as well as the top area, plus a few pots. We got a minimum of 47 new plants and more starts with no place to put them. (Might have to plow up the back yard.)

All these pots came from one small pot. (We also sent 12 pots over to Joe and Sujin's.)

So it just goes to show you, that no farming dilemma goes unsolved when you have a trusty John Deere!!

The New Scenery

Well, since we no longer have a trampoline, soccer games, football or water slides to take up the back yard, we have added three new trees: a grapefruit, a Washington Navel orange and a Pixie Mandarin orange. So soon, with any luck, the back yard will look a little different. (Sure was glad for the dog's help in getting the holes dug.)

The Avocado Hunt

While Jason and Jamie were visiting, grandma put Jason and Jeffrey to work picking avocados. These are a couple of pictures she took of them up in the tree. ( I think it would have been cheaper and faster to get a trained monkey.) So all of those who are enjoying avocados be sure to include them in your thanks.
