Some fun pictures

Wanted to share a few of the pictures that I have taken over the last couple weeks as they have been filling in the beach.

A fun video for KP

This part of the beach all filled back up with sand.
 Machinary leveling the sand

Dozer and excavator playing in the water getting the pipe hooked up.

Liked the patterns in the sand

Some fun on the sand

Check out the video.  This is from the beach where they are building up the sand.  You will find these pockets and when you step on them its like quicksand.

Dredging

So the last couple weeks we have been watching them get ready to dredge out Channel Islands Harbor . They do it every couple of years. Above is the dredger itself; the front is like a big auger that digs it loose and then it is pumped through the boat and out that big pipe in the back. Below is the pipes getting laid out on Silver Strand Beach.
Some places the pipe is buried.
Other places it just lies on top.
They're hooking it up across the Hueneme Harbor.

Here they're hooking it up down the promenade at the light house.
They have it dumping out at Hueneme Beach; it's just water at first.

Merry Christmas

So Christmas was a lot different this year for the family; most had other activities and plans so the house was kind of empty

Mom unwrapping The Sound of Music.
Marie got a box of potato chips; oh wait, it was actualy her T-shirt blanket
Then that night we went down and rode our bikes around F and G streets and Plaza Park, to see the lights and decorations.
The train set took up the whole yard

A collection of a few of the sights; it was a fun way to see the sights on our bikes instead of walking. Was glad to talk to the family and to hear you all had a wonderful Christmas.  So did we, just missed you all.
